I am a big advocate of remote work because it gives me the freedom to work where, how and when I am most productive. Moreover, it gives opportunities to people who would never have access to certain jobs without remote work. Due to physical or mental limitations, the place where they were born, their living situation,…

I am a multi passionate, which means that I have a very broad background. I like changes and new challenges, something that scares many people. As a result, I have worked in almost every department of a company. So I can easily relate to someone else’s job.

I love to learn from other cultures and ways of life. It was no surprise when I started a relationship with an Indonesian, Muslim man. He enriches my life and we learn from each other every day. It’s not always easy living with someone who comes from a completely different background, but the challenge is definitely worth it.

I go through life in a very positive way meaning that I am convinced that there is always a solution for every problem. I don’t give up easily. Moreover, I am curious about how other people approach life, I always enter into conversations with an open mind.

🤔 Who am I?

✔️ A newfreak through and through. From an early age I regularly said: ‘I need something new in my life’.

✔️ A knowledge sponge. When I was in high school, I always said that I would never study again once I graduated. However, since graduating from university, I have taken several other courses. It is clear that it was not the learning that was a problem, but rather the way our classical education is organized.

✔️ A sensitive rational. I am analytical and down-to-earth and generally very rational, but at the same time I can easily put myself in other people’s shoes and encourage the showing of emotions.

✔️ An efficient gogetter. When I know what I want, I go for it. I am someone who tackles things, but preferably in the most efficient way possible.

✔️ Curious. I am always interested in other people’s lives, how they approach things and solve problems. It is extremely educational and enriching.

What you maybe not know yet

🪂 When I was 30, I jumped out of a plane. It was a solo jump. I survived.

⛰️ When I was 22, I did a bungee-jump. I seriously injured my back so I will not do this a second time.

🤿 I love scuba diving. You discover a whole new world and I can easily relax underwater.

🏳️‍🌈 Turquoise is my favourite colour. When I was little, I always said blue and green were my favourite colours. Until I discovered there exists a mix.

🛫 The first time I took a plane, it was when I left for Bolivia for 6 months. I was 22 and alone.

🏠 I have moved many times since I was a grown-up. You would think it is a hobby of mine, but I actually hate the process. I always have a good reason to move, so the work doesn’t hold me back.

👨‍👩‍👦‍👦 When I was younger, I wanted five children. I don’t want that anymore.

👩‍❤️‍👨 I had my first relationship when I was already almost 30.

🎷 I wanted to become a professional saxophone player in high school. Now, I don’t play any instrument anymore.

⚽ I have played soccer for over 15 years, both outside and inside.

🩺 I have had my fair share of medical problems. I have had thyroid cancer, I have endometriosis and because of the medication I take now, I easily make kidney stones. Until the age of 28, I thought I was perfectly healthy.

What people say about me

I have known Lotte for more than 20 years and experience her as a particularly wise, knowledgeable and driven woman. She has a very specific insight into situations and figures and manages her subject matter thoroughly. She notices the little details and if she comes across something that isn’t quite right, she will keep looking for it until it is fixed. She has helped me several times along the way. And given clarity and confidence in myself and the steps I wanted to take (but did not quite dare to take). For example, she inspired me in my step towards full-time self-employment by looking at the figures together and providing valuable tips so that it could become something stable in the long term. And all this from a warm, coaching style. Her answers are always quick and thorough, with an eye for the broader picture.

My name is Liam Van Eynde and I had been thinking about making remote work an option for some time. This was inspired by some people I encountered while searching for experiences and tips, namely Lotte.

I had already found a lot of information or more inspiration on the internet and especially YouTube. Now, there are of course questions that you can only ask someone who actually does it and has experience in it. For example, on which websites or pages are you looking for work and which work can you do best? Is the pay okay? How much do you need per month to make ends meet remotely? Which countries do you recommend, which do you not recommend…

So many questions to which you are looking for a personal and specific answer. I received this thanks to Lotte. The questions I asked were answered very well. Thanks to her, my LinkedIn was also set up and then the search could begin!

A few weeks/months later, Lotte contacted me to see how things were going and what I was currently doing at work. However, I wasn’t working remotely at the time, I needed a job quickly and started working in a local PC hardware store as a customer service agent. However, this quickly became monotonous and I started looking for remote work after about 9 months. Lotte immediately contacted me again and I dared to take the step to discuss it with my future boss. My boss and I are now going through a process to see to what extent this can go, prices, etc. And in the longer term I could possibly work here remotely. I currently have very flexible hours and can always work from home.

I am not completely at my final goal yet, but thanks to Lotte I am certainly already on the right track and close!

Thank you!!

Liam Van Eynde
